Silver
Lake News - Neighborly Referrals
Brand
new Vietnamese restaurant located at the intersection
of Glendale Blvd. and Silver Lake Blvd. Best time to
go is for lunch (open at 11:30 AM) or else be prepared
to wait! This popular restaurant is generally packed
in the evenings. With delicious, exotic fresh Vietnamese
cuisine, this restaurant is the new culinary ''hot spot'
in Silver Lake. We stopped in for lunch yesterday and
the place was hopping! We selected an appetizer to share:
the 'gingergrass' fresh rolls, consisting of crab and
avocado rolled with lettuce and cucumbers served with
a creamy spicy aloli (delicious but just a 'tease',
i.e. tiny and pricey at $5.50). Our entrees consisted
of two of the lunch plates: pork chops marinated in
a garlic-shallot sauce and grilled; and the wok-tossed
salad: slices of chicken breast in a lemongras-basil-ginger
sauce. Both were spicy and delicious; large portions
and a good value at only $7.95 each. They were both
served with broken rice and Vietnamese slaw. We were
too full for dessert. As we watched the other diners
eating, we couldn't help but notice what was on their
plates! We definitely want to try the other items on
the menu! The char-broiled sugar cane shrimp appetizer
and the jack and ginger salad looked particularly appealing.
